Calling All Campers

Calling All Campers

We at 3e love a change of scenery, especially when that means spending the afternoon outside. On a sunny August day, the 3e team headed to Lake Ann for water sports, socializing and food truck tacos. Hope your permission slip is signed because it’s time for Camp Kumbaya, y’all. The sunny August afternoon started on the water. Some of us took out the paddleboards while others opted for kayaks and paddleboats. Hot tip for water travel: don’t get too ambitious upfront. You still have to paddle back and it’s probably going to be against the current. Fork In The Road came back, too, and thank goodness they did. Getting a HydraFacial while directing a photo shoot. And other adventures of a 3e art director.

Ellie Drotning is an incredibly talented art director at 3e. She’s also an amateur model. It all started at a LifeSpa photo shoot for the brand’s seasonal look book. Usually, Ellie concepts the book as part of a writer/designer/creative director team before she art directs the photo session. This time around, she did all that, and also had time to model one of the featured LifeSpa treatments: the HydraFacial. Amy Covington, a writer on the LifeSpa team, also stepped in as a hair model for the fishtail braid. Ellie did it all without breaking a sweat. (Sweating would have ruined the photos, obviously.) It helps to have a great photographer like John Wagner who you know will produce high-quality images. From that shoot came a stunning collection of images for LifeSpa, which you can see in the most recent look book. If you have a standing desk, your work is on display for all who walk by. Usually, it’s not a big deal, unless your work includes photos of yourself, and your desk is so high up that everyone in the whole office can see your screen. For weeks to come, while...
